It all began with a craving for crêpes ... Market Street Kitchen is a confluence of dynamic local chef Mawa McQueen’s classical training, French/Mediterranean heritage, and passion for the best locally sourced ingredients. “We are so excited to be part of the amazing business community in Willits Basalt, and we wanted the name of our restaurant to reflect this” Mawa said explaining the inspiration behind the name Market Street Kitchen. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner 7 days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a wide selection of smoothie bowls, crêpes, tartines, salads and internationally influenced savory bowls, Market Street Kitchen offers spectacular flavors, and healthful dishes to sate any appetite. Whether you need to grab a coffee and a pastry before work, need a quick and balanced lunch to fuel your day, or are looking to grab glass of wine or a specialty cocktail and delicious dinner, Market Street has you covered. While the menu offers a variety of tasty dishes, the real stars here are the crêpes. Raised in Paris, Mawa has been making crêpes almost her entire life, and the menu reflects her affection for this versatile dish. Whether savory or sweet her crêpes are a labor of love. Many, many hours went into the creation of the perfect gluten-free crepe batter for the Market Street Kitchen menu. Savory crêpes and sweet alike, are both made with organic flours, and organic, free range Colorado eggs. Mawa’s well known passion for sourcing her ingredients locally continues at Market Street Kitchen as well, with products from Tender Belly, Eagle Springs Organic, Avalanche Cheese company (to name a few) making an appearance on her menu. “It’s very important for me to source things close to home,” Mawa explains “we are so fortunate to be surrounded by passionate local farmers and artisans of all sorts to help us create our menu from the best, local ingredients.”
